There’s an art to being able to dance it out like no one’s watching.
And that art will translate into self-expression and authenticity in most other areas of your life, if you really let it.
The key to finding that freedom?
It’s actually already inside of you.
It’s all about clearing out the crap that’s in your way, so that you can connect to your truth and trust yourself enough to let movement flow out of you.
But how do you do that?!
You can wait for the stars to align
You can wait for the right kind of sign
You can hope and pray for an answer
You can tiptoe around like a dancer
But no matter the season or time
No matter if you don’t have a dime
If there’s something you want to do
The power of creation is in YOU.
Because the stars reflect your light
The signs show up with your might
The answer was in you all along
The dancer can choose her song.

Welcome to: CREATIVE D'ANSWERS (as in dance answers) --
the non-intimidating, non-exclusive, non-technical dance experience for women ready to unleash their creative power and intuition - on the dancefloor and in life.
I created this 2-day retreat so that you can have focused time away from the daily grind to recalibrate and connect to what matters.
You will be led to:
* connect to your body & intuition through dance
* strengthen your confidence & self-expression
* discover the truth & creative solutions inside of you
* create spontaneous art in community
* be stretched, challenged, & supported as you move
physically, emotionally, & spiritually
"I love the intuitive way in which Jess led us. She created a space in which I was able to connect to my heart and to an inner truth that I hadn't yet realized until that point in the workshop. Ever since, things have been concretizing in big ways and my creative life is blossoming. Jess, you're a somatic genius!"
You might be wondering, "what happens after the retreat?"
Because I don't want to leave you hanging, I've included my 6-week online program Find Your Rhythm, which is full of do-at-home dance videos and coaching lessons to help you continue blossoming creatively after the retreat is over.

Jess's dance workshop was life-changing on many levels. First, I realized that I CAN dance, despite holding limiting beliefs my whole life that dancers were tiny and petite. I also loved the format of the class—improv was combined with journaling and movement.
I left with an answer that I had been wondering about for a long time—whether or not to scrap my second book and forget the whole project, or whether to revamp the idea and move forward. I am now reworking that book--and my experiences from this class will be featured in chapter one!
On Friday July 29th, we'll begin at 3pm in Manhattan at a spacious studio for our first In-Studio time chunk. We'll close up the evening with our surprise field trip to nearby location.
On Saturday July 30th, we'll begin at 2pm in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn in another gorgeous, bright studio for our second In-Studio session. We'll have a group dance outing after the focused studio time, and close up the day by seeing a dance show and then dancing it out together under the stars.
Expect to stay til 9 or 10pm each night.
You are responsible for your own accommodations and meals during the retreat.
Oh, hi! I’m Jess. Almost forgot to introduce myself. Though I was once a shy, obedient ballerina who followed dance steps like a technical machine, I now dance freely in public and performative contexts.
I’ve danced in crowded airports and trains stations holding my “DANCE WITH ME” sign. I’ve danced on stage in front of 200 people, having to make up a new routine when my music track was suddenly lost. I’ve danced in the basement of parent’s house in New Jersey when I so desperately needed an outlet to deal with the pain and overwhelm my family went through after my dad’s stroke.
I’ve danced to come home to myself, no matter what was going on around me. And in doing so, I was able to give more, create more, connect with more people, and redesign my career and life.
Through that process of discovery and reconnection, I created this dance programming as a way to make the dance world more accessible to more people, guiding other returning dancers to find their rhythm again and design their own dance world. Because we all have the ability to make bold moves – we just need a boost to trust ourselves and to find the structure and community to guide us along.
Yes, that’s totally ok! I personally will argue that everyone is a dancer, but we don’t have to get into that here. All you need is a desire and willingness to dance and move your body. You don’t need “training” or previous dance experience. There won’t be any fancy flip moves to learn, and I certainly won’t make you do anything you’re not comfortable with. (That would be weird.)
Oh yes! Dancer-dancers welcomed, too. You might be worried this will be beneath your technical capabilities, and it probably will be. But this retreat isn’t about technique. There are plenty of other places you can go to get a good contemporary-jazz class in. This workshop is about helping you undo whatever you’ve learned that’s stopping you from fully trusting yourself and your truth - both on the dancefloor and in life.
Between you, me, and the internet, I’m in a fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants mode with my business and classes. (That’s right, I’m trusting the process!) I tend to do things when I’m inspired to do them. So I don’t have another plan to do this again - but that’s not some technique to put you into scarcity mode so that you join now. It’s just the truth. Who knows, I might do it again, but I might not. If you’re feelin’ it now, then there’s no better time than now. Amiright?
